Caring for Our Community (CFOC) is a network of volunteers working together to bolster the quality of life in our Marion, Virginia community.

To report a need in the community or recommend a community service project, please contact us at info.cfoc.marion@gmail.com.

CFOC volunteers may participate in an annual service event only or choose to be engaged on an ongoing basis, as needed. The extent of the volunteer’s involvement is left up to each volunteer.

  • The 2026 Community Service Days will be June 6 and June 13. Registration is from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. each day, with work assignments performed from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Lunch is provided for all volunteers along with our community’s police, fire, and EMS First Responders after volunteer work assignments have been completion.
  • To volunteer for this year’s Community Service Days, register through this website or come to Royal Oak Presbyterian Church, 139 West Main Street, Marion, Virginia the morning of the event. On-site registration is from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. During registration, each volunteer will select a work team assignment. The Team Lead for each work site will escort volunteers to their chosen work site. Most work activities will be completed prior to 12:00 noon. (No activities are planned for either afternoon.) Coffee, juice, and donuts will be served during the registration period.
  • Matching funds are being sought for a Town of Marion Grant. To donate, call (281) 413-9473 or mail a check made out to CFOC – Royal Oak Presbyterian Church to 139 W. Main Street, Marion, VA 24354.
  • CFOC’s community activities in 2025 involved 237 volunteers working at 19 work sites around the community to complete 24 projects. See the Community Services tab for highlights of 2025 and prior years’ activities.
